Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about concrete leveling with polyurethane foam.
Is foam concrete leveling more affordable than tearing out and replacing old concrete?
Yes — polyurethane foam leveling typically costs about 1/3 of what full concrete replacement would cost. The foam is long-lasting, waterproof, and won't shrink or erode over time, making it an excellent long-term investment. Unlike mudjacking, which can deteriorate and need to be repeated, foam injection provides a durable, permanent solution.
How long does foam jacking concrete leveling last?
A decade of continual testing by our foam suppliers has not identified a destruction point. Only UV rays from the sun have shown any damaging effect — and since the foam is injected underground, it's completely protected from sunlight. You can expect your leveling work to last for the lifetime of the concrete itself.
Will the cold Minnesota winters affect the foam?
No. Because the polyurethane foam is completely waterproof, Minnesota's freezing conditions don't damage it. Unlike mudjacking material, which absorbs water and can crack or deteriorate during freeze-thaw cycles, our foam maintains its structural integrity year after year regardless of weather conditions.
Can polyurethane foam fill the void under my garage that sounds hollow?
Absolutely. Because the foam begins as a liquid, it flows into small voids and then expands to fill them completely. In just a few seconds, the foam fills the void and acts as a stabilization measure, preventing further settling and restoring the structural support under your concrete.
Will the foam kill my plants and trees? Is it toxic?
No — Foamjection polyurethane foam is certified toxic-free and environmentally safe. It is completely free of toxic chemicals and won't harm plants, trees, pets, or people. The foam is also made from 39-49% renewable and recycled materials.
How long does the leveling process take?
Most residential jobs are completed in 1-2 hours. We drill small 3/8" holes (smaller than a dime), inject the foam, and your concrete is fully usable within about 2 hours. There's minimal disruption to your day.
What types of concrete can you level?
We level and stabilize virtually any type of concrete surface: driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage floors, pool decks, steps, warehouse floors, parking garages, and more. We work with both residential and commercial properties.
How does foam jacking compare to mudjacking?
Foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam instead of the heavy mud/slurry mixture used in mudjacking. Key advantages: smaller injection holes (3/8" vs 1-2"), faster cure time (minutes vs days), lighter material (less soil stress), waterproof (immune to freeze-thaw), and longer lasting results. Foam leveling typically costs slightly more than mudjacking but significantly less than replacement.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes! We provide free, no-obligation estimates for all concrete leveling and void filling projects. We'll come to your property, assess the situation, and give you a transparent quote. The person who gives you the estimate is the same person who does the work — we're owner-operated, so there's no middleman.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the entire Twin Cities metropolitan area, including Minneapolis, St. Paul, and all surrounding suburbs. We're based in Champlin, MN, and regularly work in Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Coon Rapids, Edina, Bloomington, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Burnsville, and many more communities.
